Saturday, Newbury, post time: 14:35, THE BOYLE SPORTS LOCKINGE STAKES-G1, £400,000, 4yo/up, 8fT
Field: Cicero's Gift (GB) (Muhaarar {GB}), Damysus (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Dancing Gemini (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), Jonquil (GB) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), Mississippi River (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), More Thunder (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Notable Speech (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), Sahlan (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), The Lion In Winter (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), Zeus Olympios (GB) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}).
TDN Analysis: Despite his up-and-down profile, Notable Speech has always been a class act at this trip when things fall right and the pace scenario should be ideal this time unlike last year when he was fourth off a moderate tempo. Sharpened by a luckless run in the Maker's Mark Mile, he has the speed weapon at the finish that his rivals don't possess. Zeus Olympios and Damysus are the new boys on the miling scene, but they have to prove they can hone their speed where it counts and this is a big stage to attempt it, while last year's runner-up Dancing Gemini has to rediscover that form after some tame efforts. Successful in the Hungerford over seven furlongs here last term, More Thunder hails from a stable in hot form and was originally believed to be a middle-distance horse by his former trainer Sir Michael Stoute so has to be of interest with a strong pace to suit. [Tom Frary].
Saturday, Newbury, post time: 13:25, THE SKY SPORTS RACING ASTON PARK STAKES-G3, £100,000, 4yo/up, 12fT
Field: Kalpana (GB) (Study Of Man {Ire}), Arabian Force (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}), French Master (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), Liberty Lane (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), West Wind Blows (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}).
TDN Analysis: All eyes on Kalpana as she returns under the maximum penalty having conquered Ascot's British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes for the second time. West Wind Blows will provide a yardstick, having been second to Calandagan and Best Secret on his last two starts, and he has race-fitness on his side. French Master ran big first time after his gelding operation when third in Newmarket's Jockey Club Stakes and is interesting in this type of contest. [Tom Frary].
Saturday, Newbury, post time: 14:00, THE CHILDWICKBURY STUD FILLIES' TRIAL STAKES-Listed, £75,000, 3yo, f, 10fT
Field: Allaire (GB) (Study Of Man {GB}), Esna (Ire) (Starman {GB}), Fractional (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Golden Orbit (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), Lady Roisia (GB) (St Mark's Basilica {Fr}), Sacred Ground (GB) (Kingman {GB}).
TDN Analysis: Still in the Oaks, The King and The Queen's Golden Orbit beat a smart type on her sole start at Newmarket in September and carries considerable intrigue into this late prep. Stablemate Lady Roisia is a daughter of an Oaks heroine in Talent and therefore precious to Ralph Beckett. She looks exciting based on her Nottingham maiden win in October and this will tell connections more. [Tom Frary].
Saturday, Newbury, post time: 15:10, THE HIGHCLERE CASTLE GIN CARNARVON STAKES-Listed, £65,000, 3yo, 6fT
Field: Wise Approach (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}), Ardisia (Ire) (Ardad {Ire}), Albert Einstein (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Aqpan (Ire) (Blue Point {Ire}), Egoli (GB) (No Nay Never), Frescobaldi (Ire) (No Nay Never), Ghost Mode (Ire) (Ghaiyyath {Ire}), Havana Hurricane (GB) (Havana Gold {Ire}), Sirius A (Ire) (Palace Pier {GB}), Song Of The Clyde (GB) (Sergei Prokofiev), Royal Fixation (GB) (Palace Pier {GB}).
TDN Analysis: Having flopped in the Pavilion on his return, last year's Middle Park winner Wise Approach goes again under a penalty but he has the small matter of Albert Einstein to contend with as Ballydoyle's much-vaunted colt heads down the sprinting route once and for all. Last year's Lowther winner and Cheveley Park Stakes third Royal Fixation adds weight. [Tom Frary].
Saturday, Navan, post time: 16:07, IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF YEATS STAKES-Listed, €31,500, 3yo, 13fT
Field: Asakir (Ire) (Zarak {Fr}), Limestone (Ire) (New Bay {GB}), New Zealand (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), Trojan Fighter (GB) (Ulysses {Ire}), Sangreal (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), Star Of Tara (Ire) (Poet's Word {Ire}).
TDN Analysis: Asakir moves up markedly in trip, having beaten the subsequent winner Cannes at Leopardstown last month and may have too much potential for Ballydoyle's Group-race yardstick New Zealand. Paddy Twomey used the same Ballinrobe maiden for Trojan Fighter than he did with last year's winner Carmers, which may be significant. [Tom Frary].
Sunday, Naas, post time: 16:26, COOLMORE STUD IRISH EBF FILLIES SPRINT STAKES-G3, €42,000, 2yo, f, 5f 205yT
Field: Controlla (Ire) (Night Of Thunder {Ire}), Dancing Destiny (Ire) (Magna Grecia {Ire}), Maria Quiteria (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}), Velozee (Ire) (Sioux Nation), Victorious (Ire) (Wootton Bassestt {GB}), Vollering (Ire) (Sioux Nation).
TDN Analysis: TDN Rising Star Victorious bids to follow in the steps of fellow Ballydoyle winners Fairy Godmother and Meditate as she heads towards Royal Ascot. Velozee has more to contend with than she did when winning the First Flier, for which the Dundalk maiden winner Maria Quiteria was a withdrawal. [Tom Frary].
Sunday, Naas, post time: 16:56, GOFFS LACKEN STAKES-G3, €42,000, 3yo, 5f 205yT
Field: Charles Darwin (Ire) (No Nay Never), Chicago Call (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}), Havana Anna (GB) (Havana Grey {GB}), Josh's Joy (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), Kindergarten (Ire) (Lucky Vega {Ire}), Oh Cecelia (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), Royal Bay Cen (Ire) (New Bay {GB}), Tahcawin (Ire) (Sioux Nation).
TDN Analysis: Charles Darwin still has a penalty for his Norfolk success last June, which makes life more difficult despite having the benefit of his return win in the Committed last month. Royal Bay Cen marked his debut for Johnny Murtagh with a nine-length success in Cork's Polonia Stakes earlier this month and has to back that up, while the Cheveley Park Stakes runner-up Havana Anna won her two starts at this venue last term by wide margins including the Marwell. [Tom Frary].
Sunday, Tokyo, post time: 15:40, VICTORIA MILE-G1, ¥291,400,000, 4yo/up, f/m, 1600mT
Field: Ka Pilina (Jpn) (Dunkirk), Wide Latour (Jpn) (California Chrome), Ma Puce (Jpn) (Mind Your Biscuits), Erika Express (Jpn) (Epiphaneia {Jpn}), Kelly Fled Ask (Jpn) (Duramente {Jpn}), Lavanda (Jpn) (Silver State {Jpn}), Queen's Walk (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}), Kamunyak (Jpn) (Black Tide {Jpn}), Coconuts Brown (Jpn) (Kitasan Black {Jpn}), Drop Of Light (Jpn) (Tosen Ra {Jpn}), Bond Girl (Jpn) (Daiwa Major {Jpn}), Embroidery (Jpn) (Admire Mars {Jpn}), Kana Tape (Jpn) (Lord Kanaloa {Jpn}), Jocelyn (Jpn) (Epiphaneia {Jpn}), Ai Sansan (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}), Nishino Ti Amo (Jpn) (Duramente {Jpn}), Paradis Reine (Jpn) (Kizuna {Jpn}), Cervinia (Jpn) (Harbinger {GB}).
TDN Analysis: With a Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf berth on the line here, Embroidery is the heavy favourite to add to her Group 1 haul. However, only a neck separated the dual Classic heroine and Kamunyak, who claimed the 2400-metre G1 Japanese Oaks over her foe last year. Besides the top two, Queen's Walk and Nishino Ti Amo are both hunting for their first Group 1 victories. Cervinia, the 2024 Japanese Oaks scorer adds additional gloss to the Victoria Mile, but has to overcome the widest post in gate 18.
